I only had the chance to watch the first period before heading off to watch another game. It might not have been an aesthetic masterpiece from a purely hockey perspective, but as theater -- even in the little I saw of it -- it was what hockey should be. It had to be a blast for those who were able to attend in person.
That it should go to a shootout and be ended by Crosby might be viewed as a bit "over the top" on the hokey meter (mostly by Caps fans), but it wasn't a bad way for it to end.
